H2S Awareness
A half-day awareness session on the properties, health effects and detection of hydrogen sulphide, and the immediate actions on alarm.
Learning outcomes
- Understand the properties and characteristics of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S).
- Identify the sources and locations where H2S may be encountered.
- Recognize the health effects of H2S exposure at different concentrations.
- Understand the importance of H2S detection and monitoring systems.
- Follow emergency response procedures for H2S alarms.
- Use personal H2S monitors correctly and understand their limitations.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of H2S poisoning.
- Understand the basics of respiratory protection for H2S.
- Follow safe work practices in areas where H2S may be present.
- Participate in H2S drills and awareness training.

Personnel working in or entering potential H2S and confined atmospheres
On completion
Global SPS certificate of training issued to each successful participant, with records retained for client and regulatory audit.
Where we deliver this course
We deliver the H2S Awareness course at our training centre in Abidjan or directly on your site anywhere in Côte d'Ivoire and West Africa, in English or French, for groups of 8 to 20 participants. Courses follow international standards and are scheduled around your operation.
