Basic Fire Fighting
Practical fire fighting for all personnel: fire theory, extinguisher selection and live hands-on extinguishment of Class A and B fires.
Learning outcomes
- Understand the chemistry of fire (the fire triangle/tetrahedron).
- Identify different classes of fire and the appropriate extinguishing agents.
- Operate various types of portable fire extinguishers correctly (PASS technique).
- Recognize the hazards associated with fire and smoke.
- Follow emergency evacuation procedures and assembly point protocols.
- Understand the importance of early fire detection and reporting.
- Perform basic fire prevention inspections in the work area.
- Use fire blankets and other basic firefighting equipment.
- Understand the limitations of basic firefighting and when to evacuate.
- Participate in regular fire drills and training exercises.

On completion
Global SPS certificate of training issued to each successful participant, with records retained for client and regulatory audit.
Where we deliver this course
We deliver the Basic Fire Fighting course at our training centre in Abidjan or directly on your site anywhere in Côte d'Ivoire and West Africa, in English or French, for groups of 8 to 20 participants. Courses follow international standards and are scheduled around your operation.
