Wear & Operate SCBA
Certification in the correct wearing, functional testing and operational use of self-contained breathing apparatus in irrespirable atmospheres.
Learning outcomes
- Understand the components and operation of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
- Perform pre-use inspections and functional checks of the SCBA.
- Don and doff the SCBA correctly and efficiently.
- Manage air supply effectively during operations.
- Understand the physiological and psychological effects of wearing SCBA.
- Navigate safely in low-visibility and hazardous environments.
- Communicate effectively while wearing a facepiece.
- Follow emergency procedures for SCBA failure or low-air situations.
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of the SCBA after use.
- Demonstrate competence in SCBA use through practical assessments.

Global SPS certificate of training issued to each successful participant, with records retained for client and regulatory audit.
Where we deliver this course
We deliver the Wear & Operate SCBA course at our training centre in Abidjan or directly on your site anywhere in Côte d'Ivoire and West Africa, in English or French, for groups of 6 to 12 participants. Courses follow international standards and are scheduled around your operation.
